Basketball - A Cardio Workout
Cardio. For some its a pain, and for others it gets too repetitive. No matter what, people still do it. If you struggle with your regular cardio exercise, then maybe its time to switch to a new kind of cardio exercise.
Why switch, you might ask? For one, it keeps you interested, and two, it allows room for growth.
If you hate running on the treadmill and you want to find a more exciting way to burn calories, then you might want to give Basketball a shot (no pun intended). To learn why Basketball is a great alternate to regular cardio exercise, continue reading.
Basketball is Cardio
- It raises your heart rate for an extended period of time. The game’s quick pace compels your body to keep moving and thus forces your body to burn calories and fat a lot faster than most other physical activities.
- It forces you to use your muscles, especially your legs. Constant movement like sprinting down the court helps build a substantial amount of lower body muscle, especially within your calf muscles and quadriceps.
- It never gets boring. No two games are ever the same, so it manages to keep your interest.
- It’s an exercise you can do with others. It allows you to interact and build relationships while exercising.
If Basketball isn’t your thing, you can try other forms of cardio exercise such as mountain biking or swimming. Only sports that require constant movement and keep your heart rate up, are the sports that you can rely on to be a good cardio exercise.
